While the success of CCA results from many factors, professionals on loan from our partners are one of the most important. Without external resources, CCA would have only a fraction of its current impact on our City.

When the Financial Planning Committee (CCA’s predecessor organization) issued its report on the financial state of the City, its founding members called for expanded public-private partnerships. In this call, the FPC emphasized that equitable distribution of responsibility across all members would be critical for sustaining public-private partnerships over time. Today, CCA derives great strength from the diversity of its membership.

CCA provides to its members an opportunity for contributing to high-impact work that makes a measurable difference in our City. CCA’s members provide to CCA access to their networks to help solve the problems we take on. For example:

  • Professional service firms provide staff and expertise for projects
  • CEOs and senior business leaders provide access to the expertise resident in their organizations
  • Academic leaders provide assistance in identifying and recruiting potential interns and employees; access to expertise resident on campus; and student project teams for CCA projects
  • Foundation leaders to provide periodic financial support

Since 2005, the value of services contributed to the City, by CCA, has grown exponentially.

"The private sector - especially service-oriented businesses – wants to help the City. Serving, or helping, is their core business; it's what they like to do."
-- Don Perkins, President, The Commercial Club of Chicago, 1980 - 1981, Founding Chairman, Civic Committee, 1982-1986
"CCA provided an excellent opportunity to learn more about the City of Chicago and to push the envelope on the safety and efficiency of the City operations, all while being part of a fun and committed team of private and public partners."
