Josh joined Civic Consulting Alliance in 2011 as a Civic Fellow while completing his MBA at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. Josh is concentrating in strategic management and economics and is interested in the intersection of business and government. As a fellow, Josh focused on developing the newly-formed Office of Sustainability and its integration into the city’s organization. While at CCA, Josh:
- Identified opportunities for improved operational and budgetary efficiency at Chicago's Department of Environment (DOE) and presented findings to DOE Commissioner, Chief Sustainability Officer, and Office of Budget and Management staff
- Led benchmarking analysis on sustainability offices in peer cities, resulting in a recommendation to create an Office of Sustainability in the Mayor's Office that will ensure sustainability is integrated throughout the City government
- Identified ordinance changes to the Chicago Municipal Code that will improve service to residents and businesses, and enhance City government's operational efficiency
Prior to his graduate studies, Josh worked at M3 Capital Partners, a real estate investment banking and private equity firm based in Chicago. He also worked as a consultant on development and renewable energy projects for Pacific Beachcomber SC, an owner of hotels and cruise ships based on French Polynesia, and served as a Board Fellow with Chicago International Charter Schools.
