Kelly Ruppel joined Civic Consulting Alliance as a Civic Fellow during 2010, while completing her degree in Master of Business Administration at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. As a Fellow, Kelly is working with Chicago Police Department (CPD) to identify strategies to implement Performance Management practices across CPD.

Prior to attending business school, Kelly worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers, LLP as a Manager in the Washington Federal Practice.  In her role as a Federal Government Consultant, Kelly has implemented operational process improvements and fiscal accountability control programs for several federal government agencies.  Kelly has worked primarily with the following Department of Homeland Security offices: Office of the Chief Financial Officer, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Federal Protective Service (FPS), U.S. Coast Guard, and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).

Kelly has also gained experience in the education sector through several personal endeavors. As an undergraduate, Kelly interned at the U.S. Department of Education where Kelly helped evaluate the achievement results of Washington DC’s first charter and magnet schools. As a graduate student, Kelly has assisted with the Chicago Public Schools “Culture of Calm Initiative” where she worked with Robeson High School providing process improvement recommendations. Kelly has also worked closely with the Renaissance Schools Fund (RSF) to enhance the Chicago charter school movement through greater accountability and transparency.

Kelly earned her degree in Business Economics and Political Science at the University of California, Santa Barbara. Kelly is a licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Project Management Professional (PMP), and Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM).
