Richard B. Leverett
Richard joined Civic Consulting Alliance as a University of Chicago Law Fellow during the summer of 2010 after receiving his Juris Doctor from the University of Chicago Law School. In this role, Richard worked with the steering committee of Graduate Chicago, a collaborative initiative to bring attention to and work to reduce the dropout crisis in Chicago.
While attending law school, Richard was a member of a consulting team with the University of Chicago Booth School of Business Management Lab where he worked with the University's Office of Civic Engagement to development an investment and engagement strategy for surrounding neighborhoods and community stakeholders.
Prior to law school, Richard was an actuarial consultant in the Retirement Practice at Towers Perrin (now Towers Watson) in Chicago. In this role, Richard managed annual pension and retiree-medical valuations, government filings and benefit calculations for several Fortune 1000 clients. While working at Towers, Richard served as the Student Liaison on the Board for the International Association of Black Actuaries (IABA).
Richard received his B.A. in Actuarial Science from Butler University and currently serves on the Board of the Hoosier Fund For Excellence and the Senator Lugar Scholarship Selection Committee.
