Shruti R. Jayaraman

 

Shruti Jayaraman is a Principal at Civic Consulting and has led initiatives in the firm's Special Projects, Healthcare and Economic Growth practices since she joined in 2010. Her competencies include managing complexity, strategy development, multi-sector collaborations, and structuring long-term change efforts.

 

Shruti was Civic Consulting’s lead on Cook County transformation planning, structuring the work of pro bono partners and 80 civic leaders to produce the County Board President’s transition plan in Fall 2010. Since, she has worked with business and community partners to implement those transformations, and helped achieve a one percentage point decrease in the region’s sales tax rate.

 

Prior to joining Civic Consulting Alliance, Shruti was an attorney at Latham & Watkins LLP in London. Her practice focused on project development and finance in the energy and infrastructure sectors, including representing a consortium of commercial and government lenders in the $14 billion financing of an integrated natural gas project in Papua New Guinea. Shruti was previously a management consultant at Katzenbach Partners LLC, where she served Fortune 500 clients on strategy and organizational challenges. She has published on land use and community, led Yale’s Community Economic Development Clinic, and directed Project HEALTH in Boston. She has also helped design experiments to improve Indian entrepreneurs' access to capital, with development economists at the Small Enterprise Finance Centre and MIT/Sloan.

 

Shruti is a member of Chicago's Harvard Schools Committee and the New York State Bar. She holds a J.D. from the Yale Law School and an A.B. in History and Science from Harvard College, where she graduated Phi Beta Kappa.
