Practice Area:
Project Year:
2012
Project Description:

The Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) has various planning and construction projects on the Red Line rapid transit line, the 24-hour North-South spine of the Rapid Transit system in Chicago.  There are three major projects at various stages, including:

(1) The Red and Purple Modernization Project (RPM)

(2) The Red Line Extension

(3) The Dan Ryan Track Renewal

In addition, CTA will also be reconstructing the Wilson Station and making customer-facing life-extension improvements at various Red Line stations throughout the system over the next few years.

Downtown Partners Chicago worked with the CTA to develop an overall brand for the Red Line capital projects. This new brand will help the CTA better communicate to elected officials, stakeholder groups, and the general public the vision and opportunities associated with the various Red Line projects. Through a series of workshops, Downtown Partners worked with CTA’s Communications and Strategic Planning to design a logo and tag line that conveyed the attributes of the capital projects.
