Taxpayer Action Board

Client:
State of Illinois
Project Year:
2009
Project Description:

At the current rate of spending, the State of Illinois’ ability to support the most important and basic functions of government is increasingly at risk.

In March 2009, Govern Quinn announced the formation of the Taxpayer Action Board, with a mandate to identify ways to change the structure and spending of State government so vital services, such as education, healthcare, support for the elderly, workforce development, and others, could continue.

The TAB’s report, released in June 2009, identified 100 opportunities for the State to reduce several billion dollars in operational spending, without minimal impact to services and program eligibility.
