Beth joined the Civic Consulting Alliance in November 2017 as a Project Manager and is working on the Partnership for Safe and Peaceful Communities to reduce gun violence in Chicago.
Prior to joining Civic Consulting Alliance, Beth spent five years at the City Colleges of Chicago, first as an academic advisor and then as the director of retention and completion. At City Colleges, she led a variety of district-wide initiatives to remove institutional barriers to student success, resulting in the highest proportion of students graduating in City Colleges' history. To support this work, she overhauled student-facing systems and professional development for advisors, ensuring that all students receive consistent information about their academic progress. As an advisor, she was responsible for helping students identify their goals and overcome obstacles so they could reach graduation.
Beth earned her bachelors degree in English from the University of Arizona and a masters in science with a focus on higher education administration and policy from Northwestern University. Outside of work, Beth can be found tackling DIY projects around her 1916 home and creating a wildlife-friendly landscape for her cat to watch from indoors.
