From Our CEO: A New Chapter for Civic Collaboration
Civic Consulting Alliance’s 2025–2030 Strategic Plan was developed with insight from over 130 stakeholders across the region. Below, our CEO introduces the vision and priorities that will guide our next five years of impact.
I’m proud to share Civic Consulting Alliance’s 2025-2030 Strategic Plan, a roadmap shaped by 130 stakeholders. Together, we refined where to focus our collective resources for greater impact at a time when turnover in the public sector is more common, and the need for institutional knowledge and trust-building between government, the public, and the business community is increasingly urgent.
At the heart of this Plan is a vision that reflects our highest aspirations: To be the cornerstone of a civic ecosystem that creates a more vibrant, equitable, and prosperous Chicago region for all. This ecosystem of people, organizations, and institutions working across sectors is how we move the region forward. As we engage in that work, we’re committed to impact that removes barriers and ensures access to opportunity is shared among everyone.
The revised mission reinforces what we’ve done best for 40 years: To get big things done for the Chicago region by bringing together our dedicated staff and the business community to provide pro bono expertise to government & civic leaders. While the core of Civic Consulting Alliance’s work remains with public sector clients, we also serve civic leaders who are committed to advancing the common good through collaborations that address complex issues that cross levels of government, institutions, and communities.
This Strategic Plan also sharpens the way we work toward our vision and mission across four focus areas: Economic Vitality, Education, Health, and Safety & Justice. We refreshed our organizational values to reflect how we show up in partnership and service. Finally, we clarified our priorities for engaging with those closest to the work—our clients, funders, partners, and team.
Through our partners and team, Civic Consulting Alliance provided $108 million in pro bono services to clients in just the past five years. With this Strategic Plan, we recommit to the values and work that have long defined Civic Consulting Alliance—bringing the right people together to get big things done. Now, we’re stepping into this next chapter with the clarity and focus we need to do that work even more effectively for greater impact.
