Alex Hoopes is a public finance analyst at Mesirow. He first joined the firm as an intern in summer 2024 and, after graduating from Northern Illinois University with a degree in Business Administration, joined the public finance team full-time in spring 2025.

In his role, Alex supports multiple teams across the department through quantitative analysis, debt structuring and modeling, and deal execution. He primarily works with municipalities in Illinois and Indiana, while collaborating day-to-day with colleagues and clients nationwide.

A Chicago native currently living in Edgewater, Alex is grateful for the opportunity to work with Civic Consulting Alliance and is excited to contribute to efforts that make his city even stronger.
