Layla is a fourth-year student at the University of Chicago, majoring in Economics and Global Studies.

At UChicago, she serves on the Student Advisory Board at the Institute of Politics and leads the civic engagement group Leaders of Color. Previously, Layla interned with the Policy and Advocacy team at Chicago’s Department of Family and Support Services (DFSS). In her free time, she enjoys sewing, reading, and watching reality TV.
