Joanna Lam

Joanna is a senior at Pomona College pursuing a double major in Public Policy Analysis-Economics and East Asian History. She recently completed a semester abroad in Shanghai, China, where she developed a strong interest in economic development, specifically the role of tourism as a poverty alleviation strategy in rural regions.
On campus, she has been actively involved in a range of community initiatives, from coordinating an environmental education program for local high schoolers to leading a mentorship program for Asian American students. In her free time, she enjoys journaling, playing the flute, and reading sociology books.
