Hamza is a rising fourth-year undergraduate student at the University of Chicago, where he studies economics, political science, and environmental and urban studies and leads UChiVotes, a student-run voter engagement organization based out of the university’s Institute of Politics.
He spent the last two years working with the Deputy Mayor for Economic and Neighborhood Development as a special projects and policy research intern at the City of Chicago Mayor’s Office.
Hamza is also a mental health organizer working on the Treatment, Not Trauma campaign at Southside Together Organizing for Power, a Woodlawn-based community organization. He enjoys playing bass guitar and writing zines.
